Special OPS Web Series Review
Almost all Bollywood directors are getting their hands on the web platform. However, instead of the experiment, they are reducing the direction in which they are masters. Maybe it was their signature that demand created. Special Ops Web Series has just released on Hotstar. Creative Advisor to the series is Neeraj Pandey. If the director’s movie Baby is to be served as a series, then that is Special Ops Web Series.
For those who have seen foreign espionage dramas or spy dramas, this creation of Neeraj Pandey will not make much of a surprise. But in the content that Indian directors have brought to the OTT (Over-the-Top) platform, Special Ops Web Series have reached a level.
Special OPS Web Series | Trailer 1
Himmat Singh (Kay Kay Menon), head of the Indian Intelligence Agency. Although five militants were killed in the attack on Parliament in the year 2001, Himmat believed there was the sixth person and he’s the mastermind. For 19 years, Himmat continued to search for Ikhlaaq Khan. His trusted agents are spread all over the world, especially in the Middle East. Himmat Singh is driving them to stop terrorism in India. However, the series is largely based on the search for Ikhlaaq Khan.
Since this is a spy thriller dealing with terrorism, there is an atmosphere of Hindu-Muslim conflict. This place has been handled very cleverly. The character of Delhi Police’s Abbas (Vinay Pathak) and Agent Farooq, who is constantly helping Himmat Singh, are Muslims. So Special Ops Web Series has never been anti-Islam.
Special OPS Web Series | Trailer 2
The series was created by Neeraj and he is in charge of directing the alternate episodes. Other episodes are directed by Shivam Nair. Who has previously directed Naam Shabana under the banner of Neeraj Pandey.
On average, every episode is 50 minutes long. Not every episode is equally interesting. The places of test for the agents are boring. But there are plenty of places to surprise. The ideal speech style for a non-linear style spy series. The issue of RAW’s audit is very well illustrated in this series. Spy series deserves to be baffled, especially where the episodes are breaking. There is a lot of similarities among the episodes though the interest is still there.
The series continues with the actions of five agents appointed by Himmat. The agents’ background has not been particularly revealing this season. Naturally, creators don’t want to play all the cards in the hand so fast. Karan Tacker (Farooq) has a nearly parallel location with Kay Kay Menon. The hero of this season is Farooq. Maybe the makers will feature another character in the next season.
Special OPS Web Series | Kasab Interrogation
The advantage of having a strong character is that of acting. Kay Kay Menon, Vinay Pathak, Karan Tacker and the Web Series’s villain Sajjad Delafrooz all performed according to the character.
It only becomes a matter of playing catch-up in the Spy Drama. Here the family side of Himmat has grown a bit. But the Special Ops Web Series will be a bit behind compared to the emotional thriller in Family Man. But the Special Ops Web Series will be far ahead of the Bird of Blood in a smart and spaceless environment.
